Snoop Dogg Arrested For Marijuana Possession
Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested for the possesion of marijuana last weekend after his tour bus was stopped in Texas. The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., was stopped by local law enforcement agents at the west Texas border patrol station in Sierra Blanca, near the Mexican border. Dogs used to sniff out drugs alerted local law enforcement agents to the presence of marijuana in a trash can near the back of the bus. Police at the scene found a brown plastic prescription medicine container with less than half of one ounce of marijuana in ready-to-use rolled up form. The rapper admitted to police at the scene that the marijuana belonged to him as he has a legal prescription to use the drug in California. The state of Texas, however, has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to marijuana and Broadus was immediately arrested. The rapper was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released from police custody. Broadus may be required to pay a $537 fine, but will most likely avoid any jail time.
