Marijuana Farm Raided In The Bronx

Law enforcement officials in New York City raided a five-story marijuana farm in the Bronx this past Tuesday. According to reports, the building was in a residential area of the Van Nest neighborhood and contained at least 75 pounds of the drug that had already been cut, dried and packaged in plastic for distribution. Investigators estimate that the facility was producing as much as 50 or 60 pounds of marijuana every month, with a street value of about $250,000. Police at the scene recovered an estimated 1,550 more pounds of marijuana plants, some nearly seven feet in height. Members of the Bronx Narcotics squad began searching the grow house on Tuesday around 1 o'clock in the afternoon following a "long term" investigation. New York City police began clearing the building out that same day. Three men, Brian Munoz, Diego Reyes and Victor Reyes, all in their early- to mid-twenties, were arrested in connection with the grow house and were charged with criminal possession of marijuana as well as the use of drug paraphernalia.

While these men were arrested in the state of New York, any experienced Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney can tell you that local law enforcement agents here are also very tough on enforcing marijuana-related laws. If you have been arrested for a marijuana-related crime, call the offices of Kestenbaum, Eisner & Gorin, LLP to speak to a skilled and aggressive Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney today. At Kestenbaum, Eisner & Gorin, LLP our attorneys can tell you that the use of marijuana is still illegal according to federal laws and regulations. However, your Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney knows that 16 states, including the state of California, have enacted legislation that allows people to use marijuana when deemed medically necessary and under certain very strict conditions. In order for a person to legally consume marijuana, he or she must have a valid prescription from a doctor licensed in the state of California. Doctors can prescribe marijuana to deal with a variety of health conditions such as anorexia, AIDS, chronic migraine headaches, cancer and even severe arthritis pain. Your Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney can tell you that a patient or their primary caregiver can legally carry up to eight ounces of dried marijuana, or can grow six mature or 12 immature marijuana plants for their own personal use. However, because marijuana consumption is still illegal under federal laws, an experienced Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney will tell you that people with valid prescriptions can and do get arrested for possession all the time. Because of that, it is so important to make sure you have a Los Angeles Drug Crime Defense Attorney defending you if you have been arrested. Call the offices of Kestenbaum, Eisner & Gorin, LLP today at 1-877-781-1570 to start preparing your defense.
