Marijuana Farm Raided In The Bronx
Law enforcement officials in New York City raided a five-story marijuana farm in the Bronx this past Tuesday. According to reports, the building was in a residential area of the Van Nest neighborhood and contained at least 75 pounds of the drug that had already been cut, dried and packaged in plastic for distribution. Investigators estimate that the facility was producing as much as 50 or 60 pounds of marijuana every month, with a street value of about $250,000. Police at the scene recovered an estimated 1,550 more pounds of marijuana plants, some nearly seven feet in height. Members of the Bronx Narcotics squad began searching the grow house on Tuesday around 1 o'clock in the afternoon following a "long term" investigation. New York City police began clearing the building out that same day. Three men, Brian Munoz, Diego Reyes and Victor Reyes, all in their early- to mid-twenties, were arrested in connection with the grow house and were charged with criminal possession of marijuana as well as the use of drug paraphernalia.
