Rapper Arrested For Drug Smuggling Conspiracy
Rapper Lil Boosie was sentenced to prison today for his part in in a drug smuggling conspiracy. The rapper, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, pleaded guilty in a Louisiana court room to conspiring to smuggle drugs such as codeine, marijuana and ecstasy into two different state prisons. Hatch, who is 29 years old, was already serving time for a different drug charge when he attempted to smuggle illegal drugs into a jail with the help of a guard working at the jail. The judge in Hatch's case sentenced the former rapper to eight years in a Louisiana State Prison. Hatch is also awaiting trial for first-degree murder stemming from the death of Terry Boyd in 2009. That trial is set to take place in late April of next year. Hatch's work as a rapper was featured on the 2007 hit "Wipe Me Down."
