Mayfield Arrested For Drug Possession
Former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield was arrested earlier this month after local law enforcement agents found methamphetamines while searching his home. Police arrived at Mayfield's North Carolina home on November 1st with a search warrant after being given a tip that there may have been stolen property on the premises, and found as many as six small bags of methamphetamines during their search. According to police reports, Mayfield did, indeed, turn out to have had stolen property in his home when police searched. However, he was not charged with possession of stolen property, or any crime that was not drug-related. Mayfield has not driven for NASCAR since 2009 when he failed a random drug test and was suspended from racing. Mayfield was indicted by a North Carolina grand jury last week for felony drug possession and is waiting for his next court date. No word has been given on what type of punishment Mayfield is facing if he is convicted.
