Two people have been arrested by local law enforcement officials in Simi Valley after a number of heroin-induced overdose deaths in recent months. Following a three-month investigation, law enforcement agents arrested Oscar Ramirez and Kelly Diaz last week on suspicion of both transporting and selling heroin. Both Ramirez, who is just 20 years old, and Diaz, who is 27, were also placed on immigration holds as they are both suspected of being in the United States illegally. Courtney Wagner Arrested for Drug Possession

Courtney Wagner, the daughter of Robert Wagner and the late actress Natalie Wood, was arrested for drug possession last week. Underwood Arrested for Drugs

Actor Matthew Underwood was arrested by local law enforcement in Florida last week. According to reports, local police entered Underwood's home in Port St. Lucie with a warrant to search for drugs. Suspected Drug Smugglers Arrested in Malibu

Three suspected drug smugglers were arrested in a panga boat near the Southern California beach community of Malibu yesterday. According to reports, lifeguards first spotted the boat around 10:30 Tuesday night about 50 feet from the Latigo Beach shore. The Department of Homeland Security was reportedly contacted and a vessel from the Coast Guard briefly chased the boat before finally intercepting it about two miles from the shore. The identities of the three men aboard the boat have not been released, but it is thought that the boat came from Mexico. The boat was towed to Marina del Rey late Tuesday night, though it remains unclear what investigators found aboard the boat to make them think the three men were drug smugglers. According to investigators, panga boats have become popular in recent months for smuggling both drugs and illegal aliens into the United States. Meth Labs Raided in Van Nuys and Pomona

Both federal and local law enforcement agents raided two homes that turned out to be laboratories for the production of methamphetamines last week. Authorities found out about the homes after detaining and questioning a suspected courier for a methamphetamine trafficking operation. Twenty-five-year-old Alan Tamayo-Montoya, who is a Mexican national, was stopped by law enforcement agents in the parking lot of a mall in Van Nuys on Wednesday and led police to homes on Allot Avenue in Van Nuys and Ballerina Place in Pomona. According to reports, neither home had residents, though both were stocked with the chemicals often used to refine methamphetamine as well as scales, materials to package the drugs and other related items. Authorities seized roughly 160 pounds of drugs and estimate that the wholesale value of the haul would be roughly $2 million while the street value could be up to $6 million. Drug Trafficking Ring Uncovered

Law enforcement agents in both California and Hawaii are investigating a drug trafficking ring involving employees of both Delta Airlines and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). According to reports, airline employees and TSA employees would find a particular checked bag after it had been gone through security screenings and would then fill it with either illegal drugs or cash. Couriers employed in the operation would then pick up the luggage after a flight like any other checked bag. By some accounts, several hundreds of thousands of pounds of methamphetamines have been smuggled between California and Hawaii in this manner over the past two years. Law enforcement agents have arrested five people in connection with the investigation, with a man by the name of John Tai as the ringleader. Tai was arrested in June of 2011. According to court documents, one person obtained methamphetamines from Mexico and supplied it to a distributor in Hawaii. Two Men Plead Guilty to Drug Trafficking

Two men involved in a drug ring that stretched across the country have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges this week. Robert Edward Sargent, Jr., and Kenny Jones, both of Newport News, Virginia, pleaded guilty to multiple drug-related charges in a Virginia court and both are now facing sentences of up to life in prison. According to court documents, Sargent headed a ring of drug traffickers that moved both cocaine and marijuana from California to New York and locations all over the South using several people as couriers and distributors. More than two dozen other people have been arrested and charged with crimes in relation to Sargent's drug organization, of which 10 have pleaded guilty so far and are currently awaiting sentencing. Connecticut Man Facing Drug Charges

A Connecticut man was arrested by local law enforcement agents in Seymour, Connecticut on suspicion of driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol as well as multiple drug violations. El DeBarge Arrested for Drugs

Singer El DeBarge was arrested for possession of narcotics with the intent to sell after local law enforcement agents in Los Angeles observed what they though might be a drug deal on Wednesday. While this is the third drug arrest for the singer since 2001, prosecutors have declined to file charges citing what they say is a lack of evidence. Several TCU Students Arrested for Drugs

At least four football players for Texas Christian University were arrested on drug-related charges earlier this month after local law enforcement agents in Fort Worth, Texas working with TCU campus police uncovered a widespread drug problem on campus. According to police reports, several football players on the university's team were even allegedly dealing drugs. The four football players arrested have reportedly been removed from the school's football team. According to reports from local law enforcement agents, two football players sold or arranged to obtain drugs for what turned out to be an undercover police officer starting in November of 2011. The undercover officer initially asked junior defensive tackle D.J. Yendrey and sophomore offensive tackle Tyler Horn for marijuana. The undercover officer went back to Yendrey and Horn in mid-January to purchase more marijuana and was told that they were out, but could get more from a friend who turned out to be junior linebacker Tanner Brock. The officer eventually asked Brock if he could purchase hydrocodone or Xanax and Brock answered that while he did not have the drugs, he knew a girl who could supply them. A conversation between Brock and the undercover officer revealed that a surprise drug test had been conducted with the football team. Brock estimated that out of the whole team, only about 20 football players could have passed the drug test. In all, 17 TCU students were arrested.
